Help & FAQ
Quick answers about buying, selling, auctions, Campus and your account.
đ Buying
How do I buy something?
Open the product, pick any options (like size or color), and tap Add to cart. When you're ready, open your cart and tap Checkout. If your cart has items from more than one store, you pay once and each store gets its own order.
Can I really pay right now?
Mogost is still in testing, so checkout uses a pretend payment right now: no real money moves and no card is charged. Real payments are being set up before launch, and we'll announce it when they're live.
Where are my orders and downloads?
Open the menu under your picture and choose My Orders. You'll see every order, its status and tracking (when the seller adds it). Digital downloads are right there too and stay available for 30 days after you pay.
How does shipping or pickup work?
Each seller sets their own shipping price, free shipping, or local pickup. You choose at checkout when a seller offers more than one. For pickup, message the seller to set a time and a safe, public place.
What about returns?
Each store sets its own return policy. You'll find it on the product page and on the store's Policies tab. If something's wrong with an order, start by messaging the seller from your order.
How do I save things for later?
Tap the ⥠heart on any product. Everything you save is on your Wishlist, and only you can see it.
đ¨ Auctions
How does bidding work?
Enter the most you'd pay. Mogost bids for you, only as much as needed to keep you on top, up to your max. Nobody else sees your max.
What happens at the end?
A bid in the last 2 minutes pushes the end back 2 minutes, so nobody can snipe at the last second. If the seller set a reserve price, the item only sells once bidding reaches it. The winner has 48 hours to pay.
What is Buy It Now?
Some auctions have a Buy It Now price. Pay that and it's yours right away, but only until the first bid comes in.
Where are my bids?
Menu â My Bids shows whether you're winning, outbid, or won. We'll also ring your đ if someone outbids you.
đ Buyer's auctions (requests)
What is a buyer's auction?
Can't find what you want? Post a request: describe it, add up to 6 photos, and set a budget if you like. Sellers send you private offers. You pick the one you like, or none.
Does accepting an offer mean I have to buy?
Yes. Accepting is a promise to buy at that price, and you'll have 48 hours to pay. Only accept the offer you really want.
Can I change my request?
Yes, anything, until the first offer arrives. After that it's locked, because a seller already did the work of making an offer.
It works for services too?
It sure does. Need a deck fixed, a carport closed in, or lessons? Post it under Home & Specialty Services and local pros can send offers.
đĒ Selling
How do I start selling?
Tap Start Selling, then set up your store: a name, a web address and a category. You can open more stores later under the same account. The Seller Guide has tips for great listings.
What can I sell?
Handmade, vintage, collectibles, everyday items, digital downloads, and more. You can't sell anything illegal, dangerous, counterfeit or stolen. The Terms have the full list.
What does it cost to sell?
Listing is free and Mogost takes no commission on your sales. See Fees & Pricing for the details, including payment processing.
Can I take a break?
Turn on Vacation mode from Edit store. Buyers can still browse and follow your store, but nobody can buy until you turn it off. Nothing gets hidden or deleted.
⨠The AI listing assistant (beta)
How does it work?
On Add product, tap "List it by talking", then Start, and allow the camera and microphone. Hold your item up and tell the assistant about it. It asks you to turn the item, show the tag, and so on, takes the photos, and asks about size, condition, price and shipping. When it's done, tap Review & finish: the regular Add product form opens with everything filled in, so you can check it and publish.
Tips for the best results
- Put the item by itself on a plain table, floor or wall. Other things in the background can confuse it.
- Use good light. Near a window is great.
- When it counts down 3, 2, 1, hold still for the photo.
- Say "take it" (or tap Snap) anytime to grab a photo yourself.
- Say prices clearly, like "seventeen dollars and fifty cents". It repeats back anything that could be read two ways.
The voice sounds robotic. Can I change it?
Yes! Under the microphone button there's a Voice menu with a âļ Try button. Your phone remembers your pick. For more natural voices:
- iPhone: Settings â Accessibility â Spoken Content â Voices â English. Download an Enhanced or Premium voice (Ava, Zoe and Evan are good). It then shows up in the Voice menu.
- Android: Settings â search "Text-to-speech" â make sure Speech Services by Google is selected, and install its voice data. Voices with "Google" in the name usually sound best.
You can also tap đ to turn the voice off and just read.
It can't hear me, or the camera won't start
Your browser asks permission the first time. If you tapped "Block" by accident: in Chrome, tap the icon left of the web address â Permissions â allow Camera and Microphone. On iPhone Safari, tap "aA" in the address bar â Website Settings. Then reload the page. You can always type your answers in the box instead of talking.
What happens to my photos and voice?
Each turn, one camera photo and the words you said (turned into text by your phone) are sent to our AI service, Claude by Anthropic, to help write your listing. The photos you keep become your listing photos. See the Privacy Policy for more.
