Terms & Conditions
The rules for using Mogost, for buyers and sellers alike.
Last updated October 2, 2026
- Be honest, be kind, and only sell what you're allowed to sell.
- Sales happen between buyers and sellers. Mogost is the place where they meet.
- Winning an auction or accepting an offer means you're committing to buy.
- Break the rules and we may remove content or close accounts, and you can always appeal.
1. Agreeing to these terms
By creating an account or using mogost.com, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use Mogost. We may update these Terms. If we make important changes, we'll let members know, and continuing to use Mogost means you accept them.
2. Your account
- You must be at least 18 (or the age of adulthood where you live) to buy or sell on Mogost.
- Give real, accurate information and keep it up to date. One person may run several stores, but don't create accounts to get around a ban or limit.
- Keep your password safe. You're responsible for what happens on your account.
- Campus is only for current students who verify a school email. Don't use someone else's school email.
3. Mogost's role
Mogost is a marketplace and community: a place where buyers and sellers find each other. When you buy something, you're buying it from the seller, not from Mogost. Sellers are responsible for their items, listings, shipping and policies. We don't inspect items and can't promise that every listing, seller or buyer is what they say they are, but we work to keep Mogost safe and act on reports.
4. Selling
- Be accurate. Describe items honestly, including flaws, and use your own photos (or photos you have the right to use).
- Only list things you have (or can make or provide in the time you promise), and that you're allowed to sell.
- Honor your sales. Ship or hand over what was bought, at the price shown, within the time you state. If you can't, cancel and refund promptly.
- Post clear policies for shipping and returns, and follow them.
- Follow the law, including anything that applies to what you sell, and handle any taxes that apply to your sales.
- Services offered through buyer's auctions must be legal, and you're responsible for any licenses, permits or insurance your work requires.
5. Buying
- Read the listing and the store's policies before you buy.
- When you check out, you're agreeing to pay the total shown, including shipping.
- Pay only through Mogost checkout. Never pay through links, gift cards or apps someone sends you in messages.
- Use the "I got it" button when your order arrives, and contact the seller first if something's wrong.
6. Auctions
- A bid is a commitment to buy if you win. Only bid what you're willing to pay.
- Mogost bids for you up to your maximum. A bid in the last 2 minutes extends the auction by 2 minutes.
- Reserve prices and Buy It Now work as shown on the auction. Buy It Now goes away once bidding starts.
- Winners must pay within 48 hours. Sellers can't cancel an auction that has bids.
- No bidding on your own items, and no "shill bidding" (getting friends or other accounts to bid up the price).
7. Buyer's auctions (requests)
- Requests must be real: post only what you actually intend to buy.
- Offers are private between the seller and the buyer.
- Accepting an offer is a commitment to buy at that price. The buyer has 48 hours to pay.
- A request can be changed until the first offer arrives. After that it's locked, to be fair to sellers.
8. Things you can't sell or post
This list isn't complete. If it's illegal, dangerous or deceptive, it doesn't belong on Mogost.
- Anything illegal where you or the buyer live, or anything stolen.
- Counterfeits, fakes or replicas sold as the real thing, and anything that violates someone's copyright or trademark.
- Weapons, ammunition and explosives; drugs, drug paraphernalia, and prescription medicines; tobacco, vaping and alcohol products.
- Recalled or unsafe items, especially baby and children's products.
- Live animals; human remains or body parts; endangered-species products.
- Adult or sexual content; anything that sexualizes minors (reported to authorities).
- Hateful, threatening or violent content.
- Personal information about other people, accounts, or login details.
- Gift cards and event tickets are limited while we set rules for them. Real estate can be listed for local deals and leads only, not bought through checkout.
9. Your content
You own what you post: your photos, listings, posts and comments. By posting, you give Mogost permission to show, store, resize and share it on Mogost, and in promoting Mogost or your listings, for as long as it's on Mogost. You promise you have the right to post it. Removing your content ends that permission (except for copies others already shared, and records we need to keep).
10. How to behave
- Be respectful. No harassment, bullying, threats or hate.
- No spam, scams, fake reviews, or misleading listings.
- Don't try to take deals off Mogost to avoid its protections, or contact people for things unrelated to Mogost.
- Don't hack, overload, scrape or misuse the site, and don't use bots to create accounts or post.
11. Fees and payments
Listing is free and Mogost takes no commission on sales. Current details are on Fees & Pricing. Payments will be handled by a third-party payment company, and its terms will also apply. While Mogost is in testing, checkout uses a simulated payment and no real money moves. Optional paid features may be offered in the future, and they'll always be clearly priced before you use them.
12. Problems between members
Most problems are solved by talking it out, so message the other member first. If that doesn't work, contact us. We may help, but we aren't required to settle disputes between members, and our decisions about content and accounts are final except through the appeal process.
13. Enforcement and appeals
If you break these Terms, we may remove content, limit features, close stores, or suspend or ban accounts. Usually we'll tell you why. If you think we got it wrong, you can appeal from the notification, and a person will review it.
14. The AI listing assistant
The AI assistant is an optional beta feature that suggests listing details. It can make mistakes. You're responsible for checking everything it writes, including the item, brand, size, condition and price, before you publish. Don't use it to list things you couldn't list yourself.
15. Legal bits
- As is. Mogost is provided "as is". We work hard to keep it running, but we can't promise it will always be available or error-free.
- Limits on our responsibility. As far as the law allows, Mogost isn't responsible for items, payments or conduct between members, or for indirect losses like lost profits.
- Your responsibility. If your listings, content or actions cause a legal claim against Mogost, you agree to cover the costs that result.
- Which laws apply. These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA.
- If one part of these Terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
