Seller Guide

Everything you need to open a store on Mogost and make listings that sell.

1. Open your store

  1. Tap Start Selling. You keep the same account and can still shop.
  2. Pick a store name, a web address (mogost.com/store/your-name) and a category.
  3. Add a square logo and a wide banner (about 1500 × 500). They're the first thing buyers see.
  4. Write a short About: what you make or sell, and what makes it yours.
  5. Fill in your shipping and return policies. They show on every product page, and clear policies earn trust.

You can run more than one store under one login, for separate brands or hobbies.

2. Great photos

Photos sell more than anything else. You can add up to 12 per listing, and the first one is the cover.

  • Light: daylight near a window beats any lamp. Avoid harsh flash.
  • Background: plain and uncluttered. A table, a sheet, or a wall.
  • Cover photo: the whole item, centered, filling most of the frame.
  • Then show: the back, tags and labels, close-ups of details, size next to something familiar, and any flaws. Honest flaw photos prevent returns.
  • Big phone photos are shrunk automatically, so they upload fast.

3. Listings that sell

  • Title: the words a buyer would type into search. "Hand-thrown blue stoneware mug, 12 oz" beats "Pretty mug".
  • Description: short lines, one fact each: size, materials, condition, what's included, care.
  • Category: pick the closest category and a subcategory if one fits. That's how buyers browsing find you.
  • Tags: a few extra search words (colors, styles, occasions).
  • Options: selling sizes or colors? Add options, each with its own price and stock.
  • Drafts: not ready? Save a draft and finish later. Only you can see it.
✨ Try the AI listing assistant (beta): on Add product, tap "List it by talking". Show your item to the camera, answer a few questions, and it writes the listing with you. Always review it before publishing. How it works

4. Pricing & shipping

  • Look at what similar items sell for, then price for your time and materials too.
  • Use Was price to show a sale. The old price is shown crossed out.
  • Choose free shipping (build it into your price), a shipping price, and/or local pickup.
  • Weigh and measure before you pick a shipping price, so you don't lose money on postage.
  • Listing is free and Mogost takes no commission. See Fees & Pricing.

5. More ways to sell

⚡ Digital downloadsMusic, ebooks, patterns, templates. Buyers download right after paying, for 30 days.
🔨 AuctionsSet a starting bid, an optional reserve and Buy It Now, and 1 to 10 days. Great for one-of-a-kind items.
🙋 Buyer's auctionsBuyers post what they want. Browse open requests and send private offers when you have it, or can make it.

6. Grow a following

  • Post regularly: works in progress, new arrivals, behind the scenes. Followers see posts in their feed.
  • Tag products in posts so people can shop straight from them.
  • Share your store link on your other socials, business cards and packaging.
  • Answer messages quickly. Fast, friendly replies turn browsers into buyers.

7. Handling orders

  • New orders ring your 🔔 and show on Store Orders, oldest first, so nobody waits too long.
  • Ship it, then tap Mark shipped and add tracking. The buyer is told right away.
  • For pickup, message the buyer to set a time, then tap Mark picked up.
  • Can't fill an order? Cancel and refund it from the order, and the stock goes back automatically.
  • Going away? Turn on Vacation mode so nobody buys while you're gone.

8. Stay safe

  • Only accept payment through Mogost checkout. Never take "overpayments", gift cards, or payments through links.
  • Ship to the address on the order, not a different one someone messages you.
  • For pickups, meet in a busy public place.
  • See something shady? Report it. Real people review every report.
